These Christmas present brownies are an easy treat to serve up for the holidays! They're made with brownie mix and decorated with food gel and sprinkles to look like Christmas presents!
1boxChocolate Fudge Brownie Mixeggs, oil, and water will be needed to make the brownies
½cunsalted butter (room temperature)
1 ½cuppowdered sugar
½teaspoon vanilla
1tablespoonheavy cream
pinch of salt
¼cupred melting wafers
¼cupgreen melting wafers
Confetti sprinkles
Red food gel
Silicone ribbon mold
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees according to the directions on the box.
Line a 9×9 inch pan with parchment paper. Make sure there is excess parchment paper hanging over the sides so you can easily lift the brownies out
In a large bowl, mix the brownies according to the box. Pour the brownie batter into the 9×9 inch pan and bake for about 32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Set aside to cool. The brownies will cool faster if you put them on a wire pack!
While the brownies are cooling, place each of the color melting wafers in their own microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second increments until chocolate is melted and smooth.
Place chocolate in silicone ribbon molds and then put in the refrigerator to cool for 5 minutes. After chocolate has set, remove from the mold.
To make the frosting, add the butter to a large stand mixing bowl with whisk attachment. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and mix. Next, add vanilla, cream, and salt. Mix on high for 2 minutes.
After the brownies have cooled, cut them into 9 equal pieces. You will turn the brownies over to decorate the flat surface.
Frost the brownies and decorate with red food gel, confetti sprinkles and chocolate ribbon to make it look like a Christmas present.
Notes
Premade frosting can be used. Just make sure it's at room temperature so it's easier to spread. If needed, you can melt it in the microwave for just a few seconds.
