These mini eyeball donuts for Halloween come together with just three ingredients and about 10 minutes of decorating. They make a fun and quick treat for parties, classroom celebrations, as a snack, or breakfast for kids.
Arrange the mini chocolate donuts in a single layer on a plate or serving tray.
Add a small dollop of chocolate frosting to the center of each donut. About ¼ teaspoon per donut is enough. A piping bag fitted with a small tip makes this step quick and neat, but it's completely optional.
Place one icing decoration eye on top of the frosting with the printed side facing up. Press gently so the candy eye sticks without pushing the frosting over the sides.
Repeat with the remaining donuts. Allow the frosting to firm up for a few minutes, then serve.
Notes
These donuts are best enjoyed the day they're assembled.
Use mini powdered donuts for a bright white eyeball look.
Larger candy eyes create the best eyeball effect.
Mini candy eyes can be used, but they won't fill the center of the donut as well.
Try colored frosting to create monster eyes instead of classic chocolate centers.
Keep the donuts in a cool, dry place before decorating to make them easier to handle.
A piping bag helps keep the frosting neat, but a spoon works just as well.
