Sourdough French Toast with Cinnamon Sugar
This sourdough French toast is coated in cinnamon sugar and cooked until golden. An easy homemade breakfast made with sourdough bread and maple syrup.

sourdough bread slices

unsalted butter

granulated sugar

teaspoon
ground cinnamon

maple syrup
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered side of each slice, pressing gently to help it stick.
Preheat a non stick skillet over medium heat. Place the buttered and sugared side down in the pan.
Cook for 2 to 4 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
Flip and cook the other side for 2 to 3 minutes. Add more butter if needed.
Remove from the pan and drizzle with maple syrup while warm.
Notes
Cook over medium heat to prevent the sugar from burning.
Best served warm for ideal texture.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven for best results.
